I watched that movie (through completely legal time machine related means) and (SORT OF SPOILERS AHEAD) it felt like it was written by chatGPT at times, felt very derivative of a lot of other fiction and the characters just sort of reacted to everything and felt pretty out of character and bland. It also put a weirdly heavy emphasis on Aang being frozen at the start of Avatar, like it felt like the movie writers didn't understand that he was just a kid running away from responsibility, he wasn't an adult running away from the invading army or anything, he didn't know the fire nation was about to attack, but the movie kind of acts like he did and he ran away from that? Just not very good, but inoffensive. Probably the prettiest 4/10 movie I've seen.

Ya, so far I've heard a lot of 7/10's from people with the art carrying a lot of that score. I'm wondering how generous they're being with the writing.

On the positive side, that'd convinced me that I'll probably just wait until it's out legally to watch it. I don't feel terribly compelled to watch it early, and if it's really that pretty in terms of art and animation, sounds like it might be worth watching in theaters.

It would probably go over better for most people than me, it just had a lot of elements that I personally don't like in a movie, it felt clunky and things just sort of happened because the plot needed them to happen, if writing isn't a huge issue for you then it'll probably be fine.
