It’s not exactly mocking it’s a Fulham fan isn’t it so a tongue in cheek chant

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

He gets pelters from our fans non stop. It's easy likes on twitter so even if he's played well, there will be tons of tweets saying he's the worst player to play for the club.

I mean, if you can't laugh at your yourself

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah I have a lot of respect for people who are chill with this. I remember there was an NBA player named Corey Maggette whose nickname was Bad Porn because "Sure there's scoring and penetration but do you really like what you're seeing?" and he mostly laughed it off.

I have mad respect for people who can take criticism/see it in a positive light. Even more so considering that 99 percent of professional athletes have such fragile egos.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

99 percent of non-athlete would be just as “fragile” if their lives were so public, it just goes untested

It takes a lot to grow a thick skin. And even with one, things can set you off. I've never yelled at anyone in anger in my life, but the time someone was terrible to my gf I got so pissed I started seeing red. Shit just happens sometimes

NEVER HAD TO KNOCK ON WOOD

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This could not be me. There's no way I'd be reading this shit in his posisition, I don't think I'd do social media at all.

Someone in our match thread against them last week said his pocket had another pocket which had Antony in it...or something like that. Completely nullified Antony that day.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Is it really that hard to pocket Antony???

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Shade to the inside, give him the wing to run down and pass backwards. I’ve done it. I’ve pocketed Antony

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Antony cuts inside straight into your pocket.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I mean he usually beats our left backs (zinchenko is not the best one on one defender) he just has awful end product / decision making. But actually keeping him quiet the entire match is an accomplishment imo

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

That isn’t as impressive as you’re making it sound to be.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I mean, John from down the block who plays for Hogwarts United in the 13th tier can pocket Antony

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, but antony puts himself in a pocket. He’ll find a way to be pocketed by anyone

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Hey! He scored yesterday!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Some people don't understand that football is not as easy as it seems. From the stands and the TV, you get a top view where you can see every player and the entire pitch. But the players don't get this view.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Why can’t he just play from the stands? Is he stupid?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

A lot of social media is managed by agencies and use automation that likes tweets about their clients with positive sentiment. Sometimes these tools get the sentiment wrong.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

His twitter is 100% run by him. There's no automated tool to like Always Sunny and Fortnite tweets.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

as long as they are talking about you..

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Most talented USMNT player.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I wish I could take criticism like some of these guys. I could get the most constructive, sensible criticism in the world and it feels like I'm getting attacked with a knife

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Respect but he is honestly very bad. Few seasons in the prem and no real improvement.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Wish he would have retweeted it for the vibes.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Isn't he one of your better players?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He is. Good defensively, good pace, but has the unfortunate task of almost everything going down the left and then being crossed into a box of 4 defenders and maybe 1 striker if we’re lucky.

Tactically we look terrible right now and our strength of scoring from set pieces isn’t there this season. Part of it due to losing Mitro who was a miracle worker, but what Silva does right now in a match isn’t good enough and it isn’t all on the strikers - we’re not trying different things to create chances and every match seems to be the same.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I’d agree with that. I’m a huge Marco fan but we really need to find a different way to play. This isn’t working. We basically never change our system

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Really thought he looked poor yesterday.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I like him as a player but yesterday was a mixed bag and mostly bad, own goal, at fault for a goal and got an assist.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Couldn't really blame him fro the OG though.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Was it not long ago the Fulham fans were worried that one of the "big" teams were going to come in and buy him?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I applaud the self awareness.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Levy style.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

he seems like a chill guy

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago
