You only had one job. One ‘patriot’ painted their St George’s Cross spectacularly wrong, inverting the colours, leaving their decorative roundabout with a more Scandinavian feel. In the excitement of national pride that has reached fever pitch in recent days, one Englishman accidentally pledged their allegiance to Denmark. Drivers near the Newton Farm roundabout in Hereford may have been a bit confused while passing the Danish flag (Picture: SWNS)

About average for a flag shagger I suppose.

Flag shagger sounds very good. I’m keeping this one in mind.

[-] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago

I'll be honest. It looks more swiss to me.

[-] lime@feddit.nu 20 points 10 months ago

swiss cross doesnt touch the edges

[-] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago

I know, but the danish cross feels less centered. It feels like a bad one of both.

[-] lime@feddit.nu 3 points 10 months ago

so... an inverted english flag

[-] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Sure, but it's also a thick butt cross. It could be on one of those thicc moe communities here. It's got some chonk.

i can tell from your french exclamation mark that you are an expert on the region

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 10 months ago

The French use a space before exclamation marks? Huh. TIL!

[-] Arioxel@jlai.lu 1 points 10 months ago

And I feel that it reads better with this added space, but my auto-correct does not comply

I especially like that they're wearing masks with the correct configuration. They could have just looked at eachother and realised something wasn't right.

For that one I think it's a little bit more than "something". More likely it's "everything"

The patriots are not sending their best.

[-] Palerider@feddit.uk 15 points 10 months ago

Half the Union Jack's tied to lampposts round here are upside down... That's how patriotic they are.

It's to do with the thicker white band on the x outline. The Union Jack has white outlines on the red X. The thicker of the white lines (which represents Scotland) needs to be in the top left of the x, if it's not, then the flag is upside down, or backwards.

[-] Susaga@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago

No, I think they are.

[-] visc@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago

Balaclava and exposed tattoos. Bunch of geniuses.

Speaking as a Dane, you guys can have the racist idiot back if he's anything like most nationalists..

[-] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Or perhaps you should show up and demand gold from them.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 10 months ago

Good point! Got a longboat and crew I can borrow?

[-] obinice@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Flag shaggers aren't known for their high intelligence...

[-] Cris_Color@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Rarely do you see something more fitting for this comm 😅

[-] GreyShuck@feddit.uk 8 points 10 months ago

In the excitement of national pride

Read that as excrement at first. Then realised that it's probably quite fitting.

[-] als@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 10 months ago

Wait till they find out that St George was born in what is now Turkey

[-] woelkchen@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Probably in solidarity with Denmark against Trump aggression.

[-] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

It's always the nationalists that know nothing about the nation they pretend to protect

Idiots

It looks more like a Savoy cross than Danish.
