I guess out of all places the toilet is where I realize my smell is slowly coming back.

It’s interesting how it affects people differently. When I lost my sense of smell with COVID, bad smells were the last to return. I could smell everything else but couldn’t smell bathroom smells, eggs, skunk, or weed (debatable if the last one is bad or not, but either way it was gone). It was nice, I was hoping to only smell nice things forever, but it came back.

You have a pair of tremendous reasons for wearing a respirator with P100+Nuisance Level Organic Vapor combo cartridges. Stanky jobs and not getting long COVID again are much easier having taken the ~$60 plunge and committed myself to Baneface.

This is what I use, in Large. With big eyepro I’d feel comfortable at a fucking concert with it.

Soft paddle filters are a little bit more breathable, but against stank are either these water-resistant P100+nuisanceOV hardcases for normal stank or bigger organic vapor P100 cartridges for heavy duty. Ziploc when not in use:

After covid it felt like ages for my sense of smell to be back to normal. To be honest I am still not quite sure it's back to what it was. What a weird virus, eh?

Sitting here with a touch of the old covarona myself. On day 5 and I feel fine but can’t smell anything at all.

Tfw sense of smell comes back but all jumbled up so chicken nuggets and poop both smell like fryer greese, so you get mixed feelings walking by McDonald's

Haha I have a similar fucked up sense of smell!

Coffee and cat poop smell the same to me (which is like a combination of the two...very unpleasant. A coffee shop is basically a litterbox to me now).

You get all that PLUS MORE swapped and fucked up smells and tastes thanks to your friendly neighborhood deadly coronavirus!

That's rookie numbers. I haven't been able to smell almost anything for my entire life!

I’m not a doctor, but olfactory training might help you rehab your sense of smell faster. Here’s a little reading if you want: https://web.archive.org/web/20220623072421/https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-01628-9

Thanks that was really interesting and also scary, I really fucking hope my sense of smell will come back fully. Right now a beer is almost tasteless, same goes for pizza. I need both in my life!

I am just finishing up with having covid. This time it was a war in my nose. I noticed I can smell my dog again today.
