Just a bunch of autonomous, non-thinking algorithms in data centers scattered across the country farming for rage bait/clicks. It’s all propped up by unthinkable amounts of capital which drops people’s consciousness in to one liberal bucket to craft a reality which makes them the most bigoted humans on earth. Incredible work

The internet is such a fucking dead end

Capitalism took something that should have been a human-made wonder of the world and turned it into a conveyor belt of hateful slop. Obviously there are still good parts of it (like here) but I feel it's causing a lot of psychic damage.

I miss the old internet. When everything was just fucking chaos. Search engines were absolute trash, and it was frustrating, but also it was great. Search something one day, completely different results tomorrow. You never knew what you were going to find. Fucking web rings. Websites with graphic and UX design that was a legitimate cognitohazard. Just some of the weirdest shit you ever saw. Better times...

Well, "thanks" to the gippities, we have most of that back now. Time to reopen DMOZ.

Took me a moment to remember that the USA is opposite land with political colors

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

This was 100% on purpose like making labor day in September.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Can you elaborate on this please?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Around the world, labor day is May 1st. In the United States, despite originating there, it was moved to September in order to alienate US workers from the greater global labor movement.

I can’t believe it’s that simple. I feel a bit daft. Thank you.

All good! Happy to help!

Weirdly I don’t think so. Neither party had set colors until color television took off, and even then the first few elections with color tv the news channels were all using different colors, with yellow green and purple being thrown in sometimes. If I remember right most of them just ended up copying ABC(?) after a while because they were the most popular.

Would you like to know how (Singapore and South Korea) foriegn sovereign funds enabled absolutely batshit crazy KKKristian cultists to meddle in US politics and brainrotting?

I don't think this is a very good metric aside from left/right 'leaning' using vague liberal definitions. Everyone listening to most of these is also listening to Joe Rogan because he's the signal booster for all these smaller guys. Seeing these circles as venn diagrams on cross listenership would be way more useful, and wouldn't be primed to make you feel outnumbered

Everyone this chart is a rightwinger except for hasan whos a centrist

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

This is either outdated or inaccurate. Asmongold is more popular than Ben Shapiro, and Hasanabi is more popular than TYT and maybe Trevor Noah

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

Hasan also beats Asmongold. I’m not sure where these numbers come from and I feel like there might be a difference in what is counted as a unique view between them

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

hey guys right wing influencers are bigger than left wing influencers if we leave out all the left wing influencers

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

Really shows who the elite like to fund.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

Tim Pool

Charlie Kirk

Ben Shapiro

I'm sorry, even billions of dollars of billionaire blood money should not be enough to make these dweebs popular

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Because hate is the easier answer. Its so complicated to give material reasons for things and historical context. So distort those and feel at ease.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I wish there were more "hate" on the left, more identification of enemies, more righteous indignation. This shit works.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

This is so thoroughly wrong, and pains my heart to see it upbeared. The left needs to be more organised, it might even need to be more violent, it doesn't need more hate.

I and plenty people here already hate 99% of the world, and it doesn't help.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

It really puts into perspective just how outnumbered we are.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

alternatively, you could interpret there being a lot of overlap between right-wing audiences and almost none for left-wing ones - leftists famously hate each other more than anyone else

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I think the right wing has that too, but they're organized to work together for a common goal, whereas the western left has never been allowed that. It's also said that fundamentalists all hate each other too...

Call me naive, but it’s why I give liberals the benefit of the doubt. If the NAFO YIMBY and I both agree on protecting lgbt rights and some level of solutions for climate change, then I’m willing to work with them.

Of course we are going to have some serious talks, but the left is short on friends so I’m taking what I can get.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

This. Fucking nailed it. The left comes across as fighting between themselves over not left enough/too left, whereas the right comes across as united…doesn’t help that the right are also more vocal.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

Or just that right wingers have a greater appetite for slop and a lower bar for quality.
