I hadn't heard about this until your post and ngl I was skeptical but goddamn, you weren't kidding! Considering how hard he went on Painkiller, I never should have doubted him. Glenn Tipton is fucking shredding too, one of my favorite lead guitarists of all time. He's got such a distinctive aggressive style and hard-edged tone (it really evokes steel).
