I suppose so. It just seems we might get more action trade embargos, global condemnation etc if more reporting did go on in relation to china. Might help build confidence for those within china who want democracy. They gave up there freedoms in exchange for incredible technological and economic growth and now that said growth has paused the people have started demanding rights. Unsuccessfully for now but from what ive been seeing the people are getting agitated.

Yeah, I hope for the same for Russia. To me it seems like that sort of change has to come from within though. External pressures is put through the internal propaganda machine and out comes agitation. But if they get a movement going I'm sure they'd be heard by the west. The HK demonstrations got a lot of light, not that it helped much... But what else is there to do. We could start a war, but I'm doubtful that will make things better.
