Had it not been for COVID, they only needed to wait since tRump was doing his best to help them out. I suspect this is why it's only TikTok they want to ban anymore; it's the only social media platform they can't directly control. This has been happening to reddit over the last decade and was only accelerated when reddit was used to facilitate a short squeeze on the market and caused a bunch of "market makers" to lose a lot of money.
