Im always amused watching British people online get pressed by some light banter after their nation spent centuries conquering and subjugating nations around the world. Like, there is no faster way to bunch up a British nationalist panties than by bringing up the falklands, a relatively small war that they ended up wining anyways.
Yeah argentinas claim is dumb sure, but the wars that the britiah carried out were at a scale that doesn't even compare to the Falklands invasion, and the British didn't even care about rationalizing a claim. They just took shit. So please forgive me when i think its funny watching Britniks lose their collective minds about a third world country invading some of their far off rocks and failing. Like it doesn't even compare to what the British have done, but they cry about it like uncontrollable piss babies.
The antarctic claim I think it's fair, it's unpopulated and Argentina is right there. There are a bunch of countries who claim it as well so they are not alone. It's just a matter of whose going to occupy it.
I don't really get what you are saying the UK won, what can you say about it? Most Brits think of the Falkland Islands even less than Ireland.
Im sure most british people dont think about it all that much. But British nationalists trolls online seem to have this weird hyperfixation with it almost to an unhealthy degree.
I mean 255 Brits died in that war, that is still very much in living memory.
Like im the exact opposite of British nationalist, but of course if you're a dickhead about that people are going to get upset. Thats not a "british bad" moment, thats just you being a cunt.
