Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Much like the Death Star contractors discussion in Clerks, I can't feel sorry for anyone who stuck around after it became clear who they were working for.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, maybe. I also see it somewhat like "Your state is stripping away your rights? Just move.", in that it's not always an option for some people. Though it would be nice to imagine everyone working there was likeminded with Lindell, instead of just a wage-slave without many options.

Fast food restaurants are begging for applicants all around the country, and a lot of them are starting between $15-20/hour. Don't give me that shit lol. Finding a new job is a hell of a lot easier than packing up and moving across the country.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Find me a place where you can live on that wage.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Do you think Mr. Pillow Pants is paying better than that?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Could be. Or maybe your numbers aren't reasonable for the area. (more likely) But even setting aside that, there are plenty of reasons "hurr durr get a new jerb" may not be realistic advice: maybe the hours for a fast food job don't work because they're already working two jobs, or they have kids, or whatever. I didn't say no one can get a new job, I engaged my empathy (try it) and pointed out that it's not a universally available option.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I have empathy. I've had shitty bosses. Do you think I'm saying to go quit on the spot and then start job hunting? Because that would be really dumb. You apply for new jobs on the clock at your shitty job.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You may not understand this right now, but you are speaking from a place of privilege.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You don't know a damn thing about me. I've been borderline homeless in the past. At least I'm presenting a potential solution, rather than wringing my hands and saying "welp, can't do anything about working for this monster. Guess I'll just stay here forever."

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I stand by my statement. That, or your empathy is broken.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You just don't understand how the world works lol. Do you not understand we're in the middle of a massive labor shortage right now, and have been since the pandemic hit? No one is saying walk out on the spot. Job hunt and continue working, then just stop showing up. Jobs don't give you 2 weeks notice when they fire you or lay you off, so they don't deserve it either.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

There's a labor shortage because people are fed up with shit jobs. Something about being labeled "essential" and making shit money. You're wrong about this. You sound like a "pull yourself up by your bootstraps, poor person" republican. If that's not your intent, reevaluate your stance.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes, people are fed up with shit jobs. That has nothing to do with this topic, though. The topic is people working for a fascist. You are pretending they can't find another job and just have to accept defeat and work for a fascist. I stated that there's plenty of jobs out there, so that's not a valid excuse. We've known who this guy is and what he represents for at least 3 years now. Anyone still working for him at this point is either cool with the fascism or outright support it themselves. Stop making excuses for shitty people.

Still a contrarian fascist apologist, I see.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wait, you really believe anyone working there is a fascist???

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Dude just stop talking. Clearly we don't agree. Go back to Twitter.

Twitter? We're on a replacement for reddit, not Twitter. lol
