FYI sort by "Top Day" if you're tired of seeing the same top posts from 2-3 days ago (lemmy.world)

I've been noticing myself that sorting by active or hot just gives me days old posts, so I've been sorting by new but it's not a great experience. this should be a pretty good middle ground.

Not sure what's happening with the ranking algorithm, but it seems like the default main page is still displaying the same set of popular posts from a few days ago.

But if you switch to sorting by "Top Day," it'll show fresh popular posts from the past day.

I've been going to new, and then going to the second page to avoid post bursts. I just refresh when I want new stuff. It's worked pretty well for me so far. Hopefully 0.18 is out soon and fixes the bursting and hot/active algorithm issues

    Thanks, I thought I was doing something wrong but I guess this is a common issue then. Bad timing to have such a weird user experience just when we're having an influx of new users, who will surely get frustrated.
