I've gotten into arguments in this local posting universe where that term came up and was applied to the people in it. "Actually, humans are stochastic parrots and consciousness is an illusion, therefore LLMs are actually not far off at all from meeting and exceeding everything that you are" was the summary of that person's argument back then.
