Only 8 teams qualified meaning, in theory, us being there made us one of the top 8 in europe. We were in a group with the world champs Germany & a dutch team with - are you ready for this - Koeman, Bergkamp, Gullit, Rijkaard AND Van Basten. Only 2 teams could go through. We lost to both, but put in a good show. And then we fucking whipped the Euro 88 finalists. Like, absolutely hammered them. That’s not doing terrible.
