Programming languages like PHP and JavaScript get a lot of valid criticism, but I feel that we do have to consider the fact that their ease of use got A LOT of people into programming. (lemmy.ml)

Go does this too, and I believe a couple other modern languages do too. Seems like the need for it is real and has been recognised by language authors
