Like holy shit, all the characters are terrible people except maybe Gohan and Trunks.

Friends also sold us in the idea of the way these semi-unemployed people just sat in cafes and lived in that apartment. It was a prelude for Sex and the City in some ways. Which is another one I watched. Looking at it now and the fat suit and jokes about Monica when she was the only character I could even remotely relate to.
