Democrats are seeking to check Trump’s power and are preparing for early fights on government spending. Other challenges include chronic budget deficits, tariffs, artificial intelligence and difficult choices about a Social Security system that could run short of money in as little as six years.

But as long as rising prices keep making middle-class lives less affordable, Democrats and Republicans alike face the risk of angering and alienating voters in the next election cycle.

“Until inflation and interest rates are under control, the likelihood of change elections is going to be high on an ongoing basis,” said Marc Goldwein, senior vice president at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

Perhaps if politicians would spend less time politicizing and more time doing their fucking job there wouldn’t be a problem to begin with.

Fuck all politicians.

Maybe not Bernie.

I think some of these DSA's are going to start some shit and that's why Democrats fought so hard to kill their candidacies. It's why Zohran and AES were tagged as radical Islamists, and why a SA allegation was weaponized against Platner (among other things), and why Democrats pretended to give a shit about Francesca Hong's stupid tweets.

And, when the Democrats likely ignore affordability for the next two years, it may be there's another wave of socialists who become prominent candidates in 2028. We'll see.

I think it’s gonna be like it has been for the past 50 years and the 2024 Trump win proves how incredibly polarized this country is.

Ebb, flow, ebb, flow, keep, movin, make, profit…

That is definitely the strongest possibility. Historical trends can't be ignored, as Donald learned when he tried to resist the virtual certainty that a president always loses Congress in the mid-terms.

But this isn’t his first time round either. I don’t think he’s the mastermind behind any of this, but whoever is must have planned for historical trends.

My guess is martial law type of thing sometime before the new crop takes office. An Iran strike on USA soil would do that… it would take a decade to prove it was just George W. Bush again. ;)

Another Jan 6 type of thing maybe. However, I am not sure if it will be any more effective than Jan 6—outside of optics.

I guess the question is, are the rich people ready for civil war, or do they want to put it off another 2 years?

must have planned for historical trends.

They did. That's why they went so hard for gerrymandering and rebooting the Gestapo, and all it did was piss people off in bipartisan fashion. They failed. Heck, my state, ruby red Missouri, voted down the gerrymandered Donald map they tried to force through here.

There isn't going to be a civil war. (But that won't stop people from fantasizing about it.)

That suspicion will be confirmed in January. On one hand, I hope nothing happens and it’s just status quo USA politics (nuts). On the other, maybe it’s time the USA had socialized healthcare?

    You pick.
