This one is my personal favorite though 😁 permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] rescue_toaster@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 days ago (1 child) Wow, that's incredible looking. Is there a techniques I can to research or watch videos on for your color stirring and mixing technique? I've never had so fine swirls in my soaps. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] TheArtfulLlama@lemmy.world [S] 2 points 3 days ago Thank you, that’s so kind of you to say! Basically all I do for my colorants is disperse them in oil (I use sunflower) and I pour them in the soap batter. I know some people use their stick blender to do that but I worry it’ll thicken it too much so I do the oil method (1 tsp color to 1 tbsp oil per pound of soap, then I mix together with a milk frother). Then to get the swirls on top, I drizzle any remnants of that colored oil leftover onto the top and just swirl around with a skewer. No set pattern or technique, I just swirl around until I like what I see! Hope that helps (and makes sense lol)! permalink fedilink source parent
