Eminem has defended his guest verse on Kid Rock’s new faith-based album, saying a friendship that goes back decades matters more than the political divide between them. “Not about choosing sides, just choosing to make music with my old friend. Praying for all of us,” he wrote on social media hours after Halfway 2 Jesus came out on Friday.

His verse appears on “Heal My Faith,” which isn’t the song he was originally announced for. He was first billed on “7 Sins,” but the tracklist was reshuffled at the last minute, with Lil Wayne taking that song and Eminem moving to “Heal My Faith.” Kid Rock told Billboard they agreed they didn’t need two songs together, joking that otherwise “people are going to think we’re dating.” He also said he “really didn’t want to drag him into my political world,” and that the two talk politics only “a little bit, not a ton.”

It’s always amazed me how much he’s grown as a person since that time of his life.

Looking at all the very problematic celebrities out there and you’re hanging a guy out to dry because he had a rough patch but ultimately turned out to be a pretty decent person?

So what if he made a song with grandpa rock they’re both old detroit artists.

What a politican type comment just trying to turn his shit into roses.

He's a pos like kid rock. He's never been the best rapper alive or whatever, he's just been white. that's why so many people liked him, the racism. He sucks and always has

It’s fine to have an opinion but can you point to something in the last twenty years besides overcoming an addiction that makes you feel that way?

Collaborating with Kid Rock is certainly one of them.

    FWIW,

    wp:Eminem#Personal life

During the 2024 United States presidential election, Eminem publicly endorsed Kamala Harris. In October 2024, he appeared at a rally at Huntington Place in Detroit, where he spoke about the importance of voter turnout in Michigan and voiced support for Harris's stance on civil liberties and freedom of expression.[397]

However, he should call out Rob Ritchie ("Kid Rock") for supporting Trump.

It’s no worse then when ODB sang a couple bars on an ICP track.

I can't tell which of them you're trying to insult here... ODB, by nearly all accounts, was not a great guy. Despite being a hip hop legend.

ICP is goofy af, but their fanbase seems to be some of the nicest, most genuine people you'll ever meet.

Also, every video I've seen with the two guys themselves, "out of character" (as much as you'll ever see them at least), they've seemed like genuinely decent dudes. There's one that comes to mind that they did with GWAR, I think on the Hot Ones yt channel that really made me come around on them.

Wu tang clan fans aren’t a federally recognized gang.

I'd wear that as a badge of honor under this federal government.

Cool. And "Palestinian Action" are literal terrorists in the UK. What's your point?

Show me one Palestinian action member who is an actual gang member.

You're talking like Juggalos are fucking organized crime or something.

Meanwhile, ODB, and others in Wu-Tang clan literally had/have actual gang connections if that's where you're going to move the goalposts to.

Like for real? You're going to keep doubling down on "Juggalos are a dangerous gang" and ODB was a saint? Just stop.

It's not about how bad the song is, it's about the people he's choosing to collaborate with.

demeaning the fuck out of women in almost every song? Making the mother of his child and his own mother the demons in a shit load of songs.

He's a POS wholeheartedly, and now makes Christian rap with kid rock. Just a rich white man that the world would be better if he never existed, like a lot of other rich white men.

Come on, he has a whole album about not being maga. This feature is ass and ridiculous but at least have some consistency with what you are saying. He didnt care enough about his stance to pass on an obviously poor feature. Spineless.

Has he publicly apologized for his bad lyrics and actions, and by apology I mean detailing all his wrongs, why he did them, why it was wrong to do them, apologize, and not expect forgiveness for apologizing—i.e. no "So there, I said I'm sorry. Now deal with it because it's in the past."

Yeah he has songs about how his own self confidence issues lead him to attack and that he became the bully he hated, that if someone acted toward him the way he acted toward others that he would be hurt. Recognising his hypocrisy stems from his recognition that he is loosing his place in pop culture and that he isn't sure that he was better off for it.

He did this while raising two two kids that weren't his, one of which appears to be trans. He has been explicit that he plays a role.

He has done this all the while he sells $303 bricks from his childhood home. His merch is dog shit.

His recent output is very samey content wise.

You could easily look up if he’s made an apology that makes you feel better or not.
