Banda knows how that feels. She backed Trump in each of his three campaigns, motivated by her opposition to abortion. But when cancer came, the ensuing scramble to make ends meet was painful enough to rearrange her priorities, and she started to think about voting Democratic for the first time.

I have a right-winger uncle who just died from pancreatic cancer. At the funeral even the gears inside his right-winger son's head started moving and he almost put together a cogent thought that a lifetime of voting against healthcare was a bad idea.

Then yesterday all he did was complain that he can't trust any politician.
