I unironically think it's a perfectly fine idea and that the people clowning on it are just pissed that it's girly cozy aesthetics instead of cocaine divorced guy aesthetics, which is not sufficient to infer anything about its quality, artistic merit, originality or politics. When i can play a game about a fucking cop who has stalked his ex so badly he can dial her new phone number from muscle memory and appreciate the finished product as one of the best video game stories of all time, i can expect guys to not piss their birthday boy pants when a game looks like an episode of the Heidi anime.
