Can confirm that Fentanyl feels far too good. Chronic pain patient, they started with tramadol, then dilaudid, and then fentanyl patches.

Was already hooked on the opiates by the time they gave me the patches (this was right at the beginning of covid to boot, meaning no real medical oversight was done after starting me on them), started abusing them, after a while my usage exceeded the amount i could score by visiting multiple doctors for scripts with all of the tolerance i had built up. Withdrawal was hell, both mentally and physically - fentanyl doesn't last very long. Still on Buprenorphine as substitution for the last 2 years now, but at least i have my life back and don't permanently swing between being either in heaven or in hell.

Don't give chronically depressed people opiates if you can help it, docs.

Edit: wanted to add: what really freed me from my constant pain (i've had back problems since i was 13 with severe pain in my legs and back for most of my life) was a shitton of physiotherapy, which also helped me to lose the fear of causing more pain by movement - at some point you are so conditioned to feel pain associated with specific movements that you feel the pain even if you wouldn't normally. Pain is a strange thing in the brain.
