With all the news about the BBC censoring a “Protect the Dolls” t-shirt, it’s sad to see how this transphobic trend goes back years. The BBC is literally participating in trans erasure.

BBC is a fucking joke.

Transformers has had variable gender characters going back to the 80s/90s.

Nobody complained about fucking "woke" back then.

So sick of this garbage society.

The first one I checked seemed to be a character with no confirmed gender. That seems a bit misleading.

Which character from the 80s is actually non-binary?

I really want this to be true, but I'm not seeing it. The page has a note near the top:

Exactly who—and even what—Overlord is varies greatly from continuity to continuity, to the point that it could conceivably be argued whether or not the different incarnations represent different characters. See individual sections below for details.

The text "male" only appears in the word "malevolent". The text "binary" only appears in the link to the parent category "Non-binary" characters, so it doesn't seem like this is actually a non-binary (or similar) character.

It was barely a thing in the 80s if at all, before it was used as a propaganda tool to brainwash children.
