Latest outburst comes as his push to rebrand the emerging technology increasingly falls flat

Donald Trump on Thursday opened up a new front in his ongoing war against commonly used terms and geographic names by warning that anyone referring to Large Language Models such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT or Anthropic’s Claude as “Artificial Intelligence” would earn themselves a place on his enemies list.

Writing on Truth Social, he declared that the White House “considers anyone that uses the term, ‘Artificial Intelligence,’ as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, ‘Super Intelligence,’ THE ENEMY!”

The president’s outburst-cum-veiled threat landed just over a week after he signed an executive order directing executive branch agencies to begin referring to artificial intelligence, which is now embedded across the federal government, as “super intelligence” following a lunch with leaders in the AI industry, including Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, Dario Amodei and others.

Stop trying to make super intelligence happen.

It's not going to happen.

It's a computer. It's ones and zeros following a program. It will NEVER have intelligence.

It is technically Artificial Stupidity. There is NO I.Q there.

Can you people stop embarrassing yourselves? We get it, you don't like LLMs. But we've been calling shitty things AI for a long time. It was "AI" when Skyrim NPCs assumed it must have been the wind that shot their fellow guards.

There is a very good reason I don't like them.

Rich people don't have "talent". They rent or buy talent.

A.I. (LLMs) allows "wealth" to access "talent" without letting talent access wealth.

That is WHY the rich want A.I.

Now what rich person would NOT want that?

And what poor person would want that?

    See the problem yet?

The rich (people that own LLMs) are NOT stealing your money, they are stealing "what you are worth" (a living wage).

IQ is just a measure of pattern recognition. An AI can do that well. Our brains are just like computer, with neurons instead of matrices. Our brains are just way more complex. It's hard to define intelligence.

Our brains are electro-chemical. Not just like a computer.

The chemicals are what "decided" to make or break a connection. No digital machine is going to emulate that.

The brain is just a different machine.

And of course digital systems can emulate analogue systems.

Not that that's a prerequisite for intelligence.

The two super computers that the NWS uses to predict the weather are consistently at odds with each other.

Same program, same input, different output.

When things get real complicated, things start behaving unpredictably.

Then you have entropy. That machine is heading for the junkyard. How many repairs will you tolerate?

If it's really, really complicated, how will you know it's broken?

I'll be willing to compromise on Super Fetch Intelligence

    That's so fetch!

(I have no idea what "fetch" means as a slang term, but I've always wanted an excuse to use it in a sentence so thank you for giving me the opportunity.)
