I realize the situation around MRSA worldwide and STDs especially in some areas in the USA becoming badly resistant, it sucks (and is mainly self-inflicted by society). But hospitals are not full of Yersinia pestis which then comes into contact with low doses of antibiotics, not even in Russia i hope. They were messing around with things better being kept untouched, but that's another thing societies are bad at, especially the russian society.

    Bacteria routinely exchange genes across different species.

    It's entirely conceivable to accidentally or deliberately put MRSA and Yersinia pestis together in the same environment to breed Methicillin-resistant Yersinia Pestis.

    Here in the States, the medical system has clamped down on routine (human) antibiotic use much more than they used to prescribe them, but in Russia, who knows?
