The solution is Ranked Choice Voting. Anyone can run and voters rank all the candidates. So if you put Stein (for example) first and she doesn't get enough votes, your vote then goes to your second choice, and so on. It lets you vote the way you really want it to go, not just strategically.

Ranked choice voting as a topic comes up every 2-4 years. Then no one does anything about it after the election is over.

If you want it so bad, do whatever you can to keep the conversation going between elections.

Ranked choice/instant runoff voting is not doing a lot for Australia. The "left" major party is centrist at best, the "right" major party is drifting further right and the only minor party of note is basically Nazis.

Lab moved right because every single left wing policy they took to the polls got fucking libs voted in. When your public votes in fucking scott morrison by choice you know you're fucked and act accordingly

You remember Gillard's misogyny speech? Great times. The next year we voted the subject and target of that speech as PM.

Don't fucking sook about parties going right wing when that's how people vote

Ok, maybe I wasn't clear, so I apologize, I'm talking about the situation as it is, like with this election.

Edit: I think maybe getting people to run who will change things for racked choice voting is a good strategy long term, and we could and should work for that
