They're supposed to look like puppets I guess?

I don't like it either, but it probably really hits for people who grew up watching puppet dramas.

    I hate this because it's like who played OOT and thought it was missing a doll aesthetic? And why can't they just make a new Zelda with a doll aesthetic where the mechanics et al. might be better harmonized with it? Why ram it into an otherwise bland remake? Windwaker HD all over again.

    It's such a bizarre idea. Like why not use that aesthetic for a new game entirely? The Link's Awakening remake had the same issue, though it wasn't as obnoxiously ugly and actually had some charm to it - why are these remakes going for entirely different styles than their originals, instead of aiming to something closer to the original concept art?
