It's less black than this. LFI was not paid by putin, has confusing positions about Ukraine but they are not far left and they do make clear statement they support Ukraine independance and Ukraine territorial integrity. This statement (with hostile media relay) is about controling media buzz according to melenchon (not 100% sure it'd genuine). I don't trust him to be as supportive to Ukraine's independance as he sometimes says. So they would not support Ukraine as much as they need or as he says but they have nothing in common with russia-loving far-right. The sad news is far right now has a good chance to pass. (I'm french)
