He had an injury in his arm that stopped him from drawing for a year or two, I'm not sure if it was an RSI or something else, and had to change how he held the stylus and work out methods for drawing without hurting his arm further. His style became lower detail and changed a bit as a result, but is still largely the same. He still managed to finish Alfie despite that and the burnout for that project in general.
