From what I've read here in local media in Denmark, that part is what the rest of the world sees as a genious move.

It locks the USA in NATO when Trump has repeatedly spoken about leaving it.

    Why would USA leave NATO? NATO is only to project US power and to subjugate non-western aligned countries into submission. It was never a defensive pact but rather an offensive one. It has never fought defensively, ever.

    Not to mention, NATO's founding leadership were all former high-ranking Nazi officials from Nazi Germany.

    Thirdly, as you are Danish, what is your opinion of Greenland gaining its independence?

    I guess it's only an issue because Trump has threatened to leave it.

    Personally I wouldn't mind Greenland becoming independent. I'd encourage it if that's what they officially want.
