yes, that was the justification for operation paperclip, but we have the benefit of hindsight to educate us on whether or not that justification was valid and the fact that the same brand of fascism is currently taking over the western world today and has sparked an ongoing war in ukraine over a decade ago proves how much more of excuse than justification it truly was.
that's not to say that nothing good came of it, but the hindsight from ww2 & vietnam already informs us much more bad it's going to bring us than good it has done for us.
