I'm not sure that is the direction this works in.

I think because the separatists are being taken seriously, the Americans and Russians have found fertile ground for sowing discontent. Poorly informed people are being bombarded by separatist propaganda; politicians and the media taking the separatists seriously bleeds over to these people taking the propaganda seriously.

    What people should be taking seriously...and what the media and politicians should be talking about...is the online influence / disinformation campaign that Canadian right-wingers are being subjected to.

    The content of that influence campaign however, should absolutely be mocked for how stupid and potentially damaging it is. The fact that it's happening is a much more serious issue.
