I love the public transit systems in my country. They're reasonably good, especially in the bigger cities. They also mean I'm not burning fuel to get around.

If the EU wants national security and energy independence, then it needs to build more electric public transit and protected bike infrastructure. More metros, more high speed rail, more trams, more u-bahns. Yes, it's tough at times, but the alternative is guaranteed failure once the gas runs out, either temporary due to conflict or permanently once it's just all used up.

To the political leadership of the EU: In any case, build some fucking rails lines you dumbasses. Build more bike roads and remove car lanes. We'll be better for it.
