I see people do this all day. What's wrong with just using the phone like we've always used the phone? On your ear? Do they think it looks cool? Can't be the sound because it definitely doesn't sound better.

    A some point in the last decade, humanity collectively decided that listening to their phone from the bottom speaker while holding it perpendicular to their ear was the most efficient and least ridiculous way to use it.

    Even people who clearly grew up with home phones seem to have forgotten that phones have always had, and still have, an earpiece.
