Dog had a growth, claims denied. Upon call, second claim is retroactively denied as internal error. Vet sent papers, insurance denies receiving letter. 40 day passes, says they can no longer look into claim. Send to better business bureau, says they can't do anything. Lose $1500.

Then, cat begins getting sick. We know the rules. We drag them through their internal systems and max out the policy. Cat would probably be dead if we hadn't noticed the growth on our dog first and got acquainted with their bs.

The reason the denied is due to a speculative remark that growth may have been old. Never ever say something like "it could have been there since he was puppy" only say "we noticed [date within policy]" and keep all communication in a folder on a computer and send emails every 2 days to insurer otherwise they'll respond once a week until the end of the period.
