The motion, passed overwhelmingly at the party’s annual conference in Brighton, makes the Lib Dems the first of the big three parties in parliament to call for a new approach to implementing last year’s ruling that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex only. The Greens have previously done so.

That's good. Labour is notably late here.

The Supreme Court ruling is wrong anyway. That said, it just means the Equality Act needs an amendment to make it less unclear that women includes trans women, but apparently no one has done that yet.

It's quite telling when someone, including supposed activist organization Stonewall, insists you should follow the law. Activism is all about not bending to unjust laws and rulings. Being publically gay was illegal until fairly recently in Britain. Did they just say "oh well, guess we can't be gay"? No. Of course not.

It beggars belief that Labour didn't just out right come out and say, "that's the law but it is wrong and we will move heaven and earth to change it". Labour.

    Well, no party apart from the Greens have outright come out in support of trans people before now, sadly, and I'm not sure that any of them have outright challenged the Supreme Court ruling.

    Individual Labour, Lib Dems and Green MPs have come out against the EHRC guidance, but the Labour government under Starmer blocked a debate that would have allowed the guidance to have been formally rejected.

    The Lib Dems legitimately are, in aggregate, pretty good on this issue. The Greens are too. That said, I haven't seen any new bills or ammendments yet to actually resolve this issue. I hope they are in the works.

    It doesn't address their important issues like "doing what Israel says".

    Is there any way to use former Eurovision winner Dana International, who is both Israeli and trans?
