I don’t get the hate, I don’t have a set but for action sports and stuff these seem great. Video is legal in public and it’s not hard to spot camera glasses

    You can also take any flagship smartphone with a wide-angle lens and aim it down at 45 degrees, video content straight ahead, and unwarp/crop it in software. Ever since the advent of the smartphone camera, people have been voyureing.

    It does make problems, it makes the creeps a little more brazen. There are assholes going on dates with that shit, and there are people defeating the camera light. It feels creepier to the masses because it's no longer surreptitious, but it's only not blaringly obvious like holding a phone up (which they wrongly assume voyeurs are doing.

    it's how people are choosing to use it, it's more stealthly that most people think, they aren't THAT obvious, they really need some kind of very clear 'this is a recording camera' tell that can't be turned off, no one who wants to do legit things with it would care. like how you can't mute shutter sounds on phones sold in Japan.
