All I do is run the process as user with no login shell. The topic came to mind after reading this post Is Authelia enough without fail2ban or crowdsec?

In my case, I personally know the person who runs the VPS I rent and do actively trust them. I know that situation isn't going to be the same for everyone, but if you don't fully trust your VPS provider, there's a reason TLS forwarding and ZTT solutions like Tailscale exist.
