The "came for" is very clearly referring to the persecution of communists in reference to the poem it is quoting.

There's nothing sexual about it. There's nothing misogynistic about it. It is a caricature of an anti-communist "socialist".

They are celebrating anti-communism from the Left. It's not subtle so I don't understand how you missed it.
