The ycombinator comments are as they've always been. These people are so fucking sure of themselves it's revolting.

I get the point though, there's no useful moral dimension to a capitalist firm making a decision to increase profits, it's a vast unfeeling machine essentially. Which is one of the most damning things about it.

I do not have any affective dimension, either shown or concealed, while I am going about the business that takes center stage in my life. I am a perfect Homo economicus specimen.

Thousands of hours of my life have been saved by switching to Soylent. My network is a reflection of networth. Even when I copulate with my paramour, all I am thinking about is the net material benefits of the act.

    Obligatory: "Hacker" "News"

I've had some of my articles posted on there and I hop on to hate-read the comments and it's the most idiotic responses I've ever read, like they didn't engage with what I was saying at all, half of them didn't read the full post because they said stuff like "but what if you tried" a thing I already said further down.

I have to assume the you-can-do-anything silicon valley mindset combined with a healthy dose of mansplaining creates the perfect breeding grounds for these kinds of people.

People who say they find value in that website scare me.
