only people that want to buy something and don't have enough money right now use credit cards.

Not necessarily true. Real credit cards have benefits like cash back & airplane miles etc. Tons of financially-savvy wealthy people use their credit cards for every purchase then pay it off before the end of the billing cycle so they don't accrue any interest but they still get all the benefits & cash back etc.
