I might offer a counter opinion I heard from Struggle 4 on twitch the other day. He pointed out two reasons why he thinks they won't. First was that they don't need to because it doesn't really net them more control or power. And second was the optics of the US admin then saying they were justified on the international stage.

I think it's a pretty strong argument, but I could see it going either way. If it were me, I'd make the nuke.

    What about a third albeit far less likely option: They already have them and this is the last step before publicly announcing it.

  • I believe that would be categorically incorrect. Unless the new Ayatollah has changed the official stance in secret, it would be akin to the Pope issuing an order and the Vatican doing the exact opposite. The government of Iran is a theocratic republic, and the Atatollah issued a fatwa against nukes as a matter of religious doctrine. So I'm not sure that's going to change even under these circumstances.
