Seeing the difference between the EVs during test driving was so interesting. My EV was the first new car I am fortunate enough to own. I got it as a fuck you to big oil. This was in 2021 and a 2022 volvo. The math on the gas cost is basically broken by this war. I was able to get the $7k rebate and a under inflation loan rate. Listening to science can pay dividends folks.

    Yeah, it's a bit weird. Some manufacturers don't like change and think their customers want an EV to nostalgically underperform like the internal combustion engine. The Nissan was smooth, instantly responsive and powerful but another brand was weirdly grainy, and spongy like diesel off the line and like petrol on the motorway. Hopefully they got better now, but they have a bad record for security so I don't think I'll test drive another one when I get to that stage, but it doesn't make financial sense to go test driving now when I already have a car I love to pieces.
