Sarah Schroeder, a UC Riverside doctoral student in entomology, hopes that naming these insects after the singer will bring attention to the insects themselves and insect conservation more generally.

Wow, they live their entire lives on the same tree. What is a "she oak" anyway?

    It's a tree native to Australian. In reality it looks nothing like an Oak, but rather has needle like leaves (think pine, but not quite the same).
