That's a good point, but I didn't mean to suggest anything but mentioning the small number of people. It was more trying to deflect comments like "it's only a few people, don't get excited".
I don't think they are the only ones who feel that way. There are many reasons why someone wouldn't protest, including feeling helpless and defeated, or afraid. To me it's hopeful that people are speaking out at all because it's a reminder that people do have power. Maybe you and your neighbor feel the same way about something and you can do something about it, but you won't know until you talk to each other.
