Most "farmers" at least in America are either old people who have inherited everything or owners who hire immigrants for less then they are worth cause they can get away with it or uber like conscription.
This was a problem known back when I was in college 2011 and was the talking point at Oklahoma State which is heavily propagandized. Their answer was people should work under and make themselves liked by the older gen or to put themselves millions of dollars in debt.
The good news is Oklahoma is having to do a shit ton of subsidies to try and encourage people to do cattle farming and its still falling short. The next generation does not have the ability to be any type of current farmer and certainly not the grand idea that people think of a farmer.
