I would think space tourism would be cool if the normal person could afford it.

    FYI, you'd have to launch the objects with about 10 km/s, at which point the velocity is high enough to ionize the air around you and create a plasma that basically eradicates everything except the most resistant heat shields.

    also the air friction slows you down so you won't actually reach orbit
