there's no strong emerging political movement in europe that'll get us off this death train, i'm afraid. we'll immiserate the european proletariat and cause even more death and destruction abroad, until europe hollows itself out so much that it cant even make guns anymore. or until some saner country stops us, like they did last time.

There is no strong movement anywhere. Environmental collapse is a global problem, I don't see that being approached in any serious manner by any one.

I know the rest of the world exists, I've met world leaders. Nobody is doing enough.

If you think that nobody is approaching it in a serious manner then you're ignoring a substantial part of the world

Okay 🙄 I mean you can look up which countries are lowering their co2 emissions the one I'm in actually is but lots and lots of countries aren't because our economies aren't built around ecological science, the numbers are also constantly being fudged to protect oil and gas industries. For every country that lowers their emissions the emissions in other countries go up. Our co2 emissions are still going up. And co2 isn't the only greenhouse gas.

Call me an ignorant westerner all you want I don't care, as I said I've met the leaders of different countries and they don't seem to think I'm an ignorant westerner.
