I remember talking to a coworker and he mentioned how he has a friend who hates trans people but loves the "lady boys" in Thailand. Had to explain to him that it's just a form of orientalism.

No trans people here, we're much too civilized for that. But I'll absolutely go to some backwater country and treat them like objects.

Not even just orientalism, it’s straight up racism and white supremacy. They are fine with Asian trans women but not white trans women because of A) their fetishizing of Asian women in general and B) their concerns about the white race “being outbred”. They want all white people to be straight baby factories while they want other races to be their sex objects, (what they consider) men and women alike.

Not to get all Asian incel either but this is part of the rights’ more broad goals of feminizing and emasculating Asian men. If we want to discuss the phenomena honestly we need to address the level of anti-Asian racism that our society openly tolerates as normal.

Yeah, all of its intertwined. Over-sexualization of a conquered nation, and by extension SA of the native population is used to try and erase their "genetic purity" and culture. Half white/other is okay as long as they don't need to take care of the child, and it's something that's imposed on the colonized.

But if it's a minority procreating with a white woman it's shifting the demographic in a direction they don't like.

Hence why they're so "protective" of white women. They project their own sins onto their victims and can only imagine sex in the lens of cultural warfare.

Very common for reactionaries, they do not mind fetishizing trans women and transfem nonbinary people as long as they can misgender us and do not have to view us as anything but sex objects. But yes, in cases like this it also dovetails heavily into orientalist stereotypes.
