Be on topic: Posts should be about free software and other hacktivst struggles. Topics about general tech news should be in the technology comm or programming comm. That doesn't mean all posts have to be serious though, memes are welcome!
Avoid using misleading terms/speading misinformation: Here's a great article about what those words are. In short, try to avoid parroting common Techbro lingo and topics.
Avoid being confrontational: People are in different stages of liberating their computing, focus on informing rather than accusing. Debatebro nonsense is not tolerated.

Could someone please link me to a guide for how to install a distro with the home folder in a different location? (hexbear.net)

I have always kept my personal files on a separate drive, and then deleted the folders in ~/ (such as Documents, Downloads) and replaced them with links to their respective counterparts in my media drive. But this has not been robust -- Firefox often recreates ~/Downloads, and other small problems. I recently saw a comment here about having a partition just for the home folder, and was interested.

Something to think about: your personal files are on a different drive. If this drive were to become your home directory, it would also end up containing the other files and folders that are in your home directory (like .config, .local folders). Would you be okay with that? Also there is a possibility you might need to format this drive is you want to use it as the /home mountpoint.
