MDMA when used properly is a safer drug than alcohol.

I'm really not buying this. How are you basing this comparison?

How many die yearly of MDMA? How many die of alcohol?

Alcohol is 2.6 million globally. MDMA does have reported deaths, 105 in 2023 in the european union, but those are mostly due to dirty pills, overheating, dehydration, undercooling, water poisoning (by drinking too much) or other secondhand causes by irresponsible use. There are no recorded deaths due to the substance itself, contrary to alcohol.

    Global Drug-Related Mortality Scale:

    • Opioids ~500,000–600,000+/year worldwide
    • Alcohol ~2,600,000/year worldwide
    • Cocaine ~29,000+/year (US only)
    • Methamphetamine ~34,000+/year (US only)
    • MDMA ~few hundred/year globally

Next to that there are academic clinical trials being done with MDMA for treating depression and PTSD.
